Mica insulator

It is a natural mineral product - a silicate containing aluminum, magnesium and potassium - with a sheet-like structure. The crystalline structure of mica gives it a perfect basal division that allows it to be separated into uniform and very thin layers or sheets. Due to its excellent mechanical and dielectric strength, as well as its thermal conductivity, it is classified among the best and safest insulators for use in semiconductors.

Precision stamped mica insulators provide perfect insulation between the components and the chassis or heat sink, while at the same time dissipating the heat generated. Other advantages include low moisture absorption, high electrical impedance and high surface resistance. Flat and highly hard, the uniform surface of the mica does not break during the assembly process, providing maximum protection for the component against shorts or thermal insulation.

It is considered one of the best and safest insulators for use in semiconductors, due to its thermal conductivity, mechanical and dielectric strength.

‍MAINAPPLICATIONS

In the assembly of electronic components that generate heat and need to be electrically insulated.

MODELS

  • TO 220 (19.3mm x 13.4mm) - with or without hole;
  • TO 247 (22mm x 16mm) - with or without hole;
  • TO 3 (oval);
  • TO 92 (28mm x 22mm) - with or without hole;
  • TO 218 (22mm x 18mm) - with or without hole;

Measurements as per drawing. For further information, please contact our sales team.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Store and transport to protect the integrity of the blades as the material is fragile and breaks very easily.

HANDLING AND APPLICATION METHOD

Surfaces must be clean and free of dust, oil, grease and impurities. The application pressure must be sufficient to eliminate any air bubbles that may arise, taking care not to spread the thermal paste or break the mica.
